Committee for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Concerns

Committee for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Concerns

We are a dedicated group of faculty and staff members who come together to ensure a university environment that empowers lesbian, gay, bi-/pan-sexual, trans*, queer, asexual, and allied (LGBTQA+) people.

What We Do

• Collaborate with administration, academic departments, and Student Affairs to establish policies, programs and services that meet the needs of LGBTQA+ members of the university community.
• Advocate for equitable university policies that have included employee + 1 (domestic partner benefits) and the integration of LGBTQA+ topics into the curriculum; use of chosen names; use of appropriate pronouns; and use of optional identity demographic questions.
• Serve as a source of support, networking and resources for LGBTQA and Allied faculty, staff, students, alumni, and the LGBTQA+ Resource Center.
• We meet monthly in the LGBTQA+ Resource Center (346 Nebraska Union) and annually with the chancellor.

Interesting Facts
