Dr. Neeta Kantamneni serves the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in both faculty and administrative roles. She is an Alan T. Seagren Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology in the College of Education and Human Sciences. In her faculty role, she is the Director of Clinical Training and Program Director of the Counseling Psychology program. Administratively, she is the Director of Faculty Engagement and Well-Being at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

Her scholarship has focused on the intersections of multicultural counseling and vocational psychology with a focus on social justice. Dr. Kantamneni’s research focuses on how to better serve students and employed adults who experience barriers to their academic and work success due to marginalization and social inequities. Her scholarly publications and presentations are intended to help individuals make meaningful vocational decisions while understanding the impact that systemic inequalities and discrimination can have on academic and work decisions.

Dr. Kantamneni teaches a variety of courses in counseling psychology, including multicultural counseling, gender and counseling psychology, vocational psychology and career counseling, and clinical counseling skills for masters and doctoral students. As the director of clinical training, she oversees an APA-accredited program in Counseling Psychology and trains students to provide psychological and counseling services that support well-being for individual from a diversity of backgrounds. Her clinical areas of expertise focus on providing culturally-sensitive and liberatory counseling to individuals who experience marginalization within society.

Dr. Kantamneni received her BS from the University of Iowa, an MS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the University of Illinois-Chicago’s counseling center. Dr. Kantamneni holds leadership roles in professional and service organizations including the American Psychological Association Division 17: Counseling Psychology, the Society of Vocational Psychology, and the Council of Counseling Psychology Training Programs.
