Faculty & Staff Accessibility Resource Group

Faculty & Staff Accessibility Resource Group

We are a group of people with various disabilities and conditions that affect how we do our jobs and how we live our lives as a part of the community at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln as well as the city of Lincoln and the state of Nebraska. We also count among our members people without disabilities who have worked in the disability arena and bring a wealth of experience regarding working at the university.

What We Do

Our goal is to welcome people and share our insight and experiences as well as any information we have that might assist employees with disabilities at the university. We are available as a resource not just to university employees in the Lincoln area, but all of the employees across the state who are a part of the university.

We want to share our experiences and we hope to educate the university community regarding people with disabilities, how we live, how we work, and the etiquette that goes along with working and communicating with people with disabilities. We are open to questions regarding what it is like to be a university employee with a disability. We welcome faculty and staff to meet with us and get to know us. We meet at least three times a year, more often if needed.
Interesting Facts
  • We have a rich history of involvement with the university dating back to the 1980s, prior to the Americans with Disabilities Act being signed into law.
